Autumn Tag

1. Favourite thing about Autumn? I love that it's getting colder. I definitely find I can dress myself better for cooler months than I can summer. I also love the snuggle up factor!

2. Favourite Drink? I wouldn't be able to function without my morning coffee...or three. That aside, I'm loving Ginger tea right now, so warming and smells of christmas!
3. Favourite scent/candle? Burberry Body or YSL Cinema.
4. Favourite lipstick? Oh, hard one! It used to be Rimmel Foxy, before it was discontinued. It was the stuff lip shaped dreams were made of. Now, I would probably say it's Revlon Lip Butter in Peach Parfait.
5. Go to moisturiser? Currently using up my Manuka Doctor Api Nourish Skin Cream.
6. Go to colour for the eyes? I don't tend to wear much eye make up as I can't get away with it. MAC Vanilla Pigment in the inner corners. Or the light gold and champagne shades in the Sleek Storm palette.
7. Favourite music to listen to? It varies, currently love Empire of the Sun, Robyn and Beyonce.
8. Favourite outfit to wear? It's Tea dresses, cosy cardies and tights until April from now on in.
9. Autumn Treat? Lebkuchen and anything cinnamon scented. :)
10. Favourite place to be? Snuggled up with my daughter watching The Big Bang Theory. Who knew BBT would be so popular among toddlers?! Haha :)

I wasn't tagged to do this post, but I just couldn't pass it up! I tag anyone who would like to share a bit about their autumn loves!

Hair Mask Chat: John Frieda Frizz Ease Miraculous Recovery Masque + Lee Stafford Treatment for Hair that Never Grows Past a Certain Length

I have always been an avid user of hair masks. I just love the whole ordeal. The idea of slapping a product on my hair, throwing it up in a bun and forgetting about it. Sometimes for a few minutes, sometimes overnight. To be washed out at some later point to reveal smooth strands of glossy loveliness. This devotion to the hair mask doesn't mean I have been faithful to brands. Hands up, I have been a bit of a product whore in my time. I have a naughty habit of using a product religiously, declaring it to be my one true love, only to dump it for a newer, flashier product. Sometimes products of routines past end up donated to friends, in the back of a draw, or (gasp!) thrown out. However, sometimes they end up being revisited, and my desire for them is reignited, and I curse the day I ever strayed...

Enter these two pots. The left is an old favourite, forever finding its way back into my life and my shelves. The right is a new love, but one I'm so taken with that I once purchased every pot that was on the shelves in my local Boots when they were on special. Yeah, I really like this stuff.

I should start off by pointing out that lovers of uber thick, creamy masks may be disappointed here. I would say the texture is more akin to a conditioner. It distributes easily throughout the hair, and smells divine! Depending on how much time I have. When I don't have time to spare I'll apply it after washing, leave for about 5 mins, rinse and go. If I'm slumming it for the day or can bare to leave it on overnight I apply it to dampened hair, throw it in a bun or put on a shower cap and save it for later. Upon rinsing out my hair feels and feels a heck of a lot softer and breakage has reduced significantly. No mean feat for the girl who dyed her highlighted hair black, then stripped it all out again. Alas, there is a negative here (isn't there always?) and that’s the tub itself. Sleek? Yes. Value for money? Maybe not. For almost six pounds you will receive a tiny 150ml of product. I tend to buy this when there is a 3 for 2 offer on and squirrel it away for later use.

Every time I walk past Lee Stafford products I can't help but stop and hover. I am consistently suckered in by the shocking pink packaging and the bold claims, this was no exception. A product that is going to help my hair grow? Sceptical but sold! I had heard praise for this product that was borderline evangelical, and although my hair is pretty long,  the idea of a few extra inches, should it actually do anything, sounded lovely.

Another treatment with a thin consistency, it doesn't weight hair down and has that distinctive, gorgeous scent, which users of Lee Stafford products will be familiar with. I apply this all over, roots and all, and then I sit and sniff my hair. Yummy.

I'm not going to even attempt to comment on this products hair growth properties. My hair does seem longer. Sort of. I can't scientifically prove that. Nor can I say it is down to this product, seeing as 1) I have been on a health kick recently and 2) I have been taking care to massage products into my scalp properly lately, which I hear in itself will help stimulate hair growth. But what I will say is that my hair feels healthier and looks shinier, so regardless of how fast my hair is growing, it will look beautiful and smell fabulous.

Soap & Glory™ Supereyes, Supereyes™ Wide Awake Lifting Eye Gel Review

I was in Boots about a fortnight ago with a specific task in mind; finding an eye cream. It's something I've always managed to gloss over. Facial moisturiser? Sure, I'm all over that. That covers all bases, right? But the more I thought about it, the more it occurred to me that my eyes may need a helping hand. Being the mum of a toddler equals late nights and early mornings, and this has taken its toll. My under eyes are puffy, I've succumbed to the wretched dark circles and (eek) I've started to notice the beginnings of fine lines. I decided it was high time I threw myself at the mercy of the skin care aisle, and that's where Soap & Glory Supereyes, Supereyes and I met.

SuperEyes, SuperEyes contains a Snake–Venom simulating age fighting Tripeptide complex, along with their SWIFTLIFT™ technology and caffeine. These ingredients are said to firm, regenerate and tighten. Sounds promising, right? The product itself is a clear gel, and be warned, you do not get an awful lot of product in the pot. Each dinky pot contains 15ml of product, so use sparingly. I tend to use a cotton bud to apply it, so I only pick up a tiny amount. I dot it around the under eye area, bringing it quite low, almost to the cheek bone, seeing as that's where my baggy areas extend to. I then pop the excess on my eyelid then pat it in. Patting will not only reduce dragging on that delicate skin around the eyes, but will also improve circulation. Double-win. What I noticed immediately after applying was the tingly, warming sensation. Admittedly this was a bit alarming at first, being so close to my eyes, but I also quite enjoyed it, it makes it feel like the gel is doing something.

The eye area appears brighter and smoother. It hasn't completely eradicated my dark circles, but they certainly look better, I don't fear looking at myself first thing in the morning quite as much. Also, my eye area seems to look perkier, if there's such a thing, possible bag reducing qualities at work here? I wouldn't say it's done anything in the way of minimising lines, but it’s a good starter product for those that aren't concerned about ageing just yet.

Would I repurchase? I could see myself buying this again. I’m impressed with the effects it has had on my tired eyes. I would not recommend it if you are looking for a heavy duty wrinkle solution, but if looking fresher and ‘lifted’ is your goal, this little pot may well do the trick. However, whether I'll be able to resist straying once I finish the pot is another story entirely, since I have been eyeing (ha.) up a few future contenders already. Astalift Nurturing Eye Cream and Origins GinZing, I'm looking at you!

Soap & Glory™ Supereyes, Supereyes™ Wide Awake Lifting Eye Gel 15ml is available at Boots, £9.00
